The film and television research group combines an interdisciplinary fusion of lecturers and PhD candidates with research projects related to media studies. Participants are from the faculty of humanities as well as connected subjects and disciplines.
It is the aim of the research group to establish relations between different themes and areas of research on media studies – within university as well as in the national and international sphere. Furthermore, they intend to secure connections between scientists and to maintain a forum for an intense exchange of research and research results.
In the frame of this research group current developments relevant for media studies are discussed, scientists are encouraged to bring forward new ideas and supported to manage already existing projects. Additionally, the group organises conferences as well as guest lectures, and with its framework paper “Modi of mediality” actively contributes to profile media studies in Hamburg.
Members and interested parties meet every one to two months within colloquial sessions, where new people are welcome any time.
